HARVEST FESTIVAL SERVICE

Monday 8th October 2018

You are warmly invited to attend our Harvest Festival Service, at St Paul’s Church on Rusthall Common, on Monday 8th October 2017 at 9.30 am.  York Class children will not be going to Church, they will have their own Service in class.

This year we are supporting St Augustine’s Church Harvest Festival Appeal and are looking for donations of any of the following:

  • TINNED TUNA
  • TINNED MEAT (Corned Beef, Hams, Meat Balls, Hot Dogs, Stew and Mince)
  • TINNED VEGERABLES (Carrots, Peas, Potatoes, Sweet Corn – NOT Chick Peas, Mushy Peas, Kidney Beans)
  • TINNED SPAGHETTI, MACARONI CHEESE AND RAVIOLI
  • TINNED FRUIT
  • TINNED RICE PUDDING AND CUSTARD
  • TEA, COFFEE, SUGAR – NOT large/catering sizes
  • LONG-LIFE MILK
  • SQUASHES
  • JAMS, NUTELLA
  • BREAKFAST CEREALS
  • BISCUITS
  • NO FRESH FRUIT OR VEGETABLES PLEASE

The donations are used throughout the year by St Augustine’s Church to support the

  • four weekly Soup Bowl sessions,
  • approximately 20 bags of groceries are handed out every week to families in need
  • the Welfare Team deliver bags to 18 families each week
  • when the Winter Night Shelter is in operation they supplement their food stocks.

The demand on resources are such that the tins donated last year ran out by March this year and they are struggling to service the ongoing demand.  All donations are put to a good use.

Please can your child bring their donation into school on Monday 8th October 2018.  The children will carry their donation to Church.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Yours sincerely,

Caroline Powell
