Forest School

From September 2021 we will be starting weekly Forest School’s sessions which have been very generously funded by FORs (Friends of Rusthall School). Hannah Mackintosh, a trained teacher has undertaken Forest School Training, will be delivering the sessions and every child will get the opportunity to attend at some point in the year.

"Forest School is an inspirational learning process which originated in Scandinavia.  It offers children opportunities to achieve and develop confidence through hands on learning in an outdoor environment. Children will be able to take ownership of their learning by making decisions, taking risks in a supportive and safe environment, and learning new skills.  Forest school helps to develop self-awareness and responsibility towards others and the wider world.

Structured activities and time to play give the children space to explore and promote enjoyment which leads to relaxation and wellbeing.  Forest school sessions are practical and help children develop resilience."
